I've recently come across a decent stash of old british pennies, including lots of the large ones from the 1900s to 1940s. They are really fun to look at. Most are VG, with some XF or better. I've also got a very large stash of the 'one penny' coins and new pence coins as well from around the 60s to the 90s, with many in AU/BU and shiny. Also, some old schilling and six pence coins. I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to break these up and sell them. First preference, of course, is to sell them here on Realcent to a person who values and collects british coins, as that would be best (not sure if shipping would kill the deal, though). After that, I suppose a coin club or local coin show would be the next best thing.
Any thoughts? What's a reasonable and acceptable rate to ask for these in today's market? Or should I card them separately and sell them, based on the rates in my Krause book? Thanks for any input.
