BIG TIME

Postby HoldingAg » Mon Sep 05, 2011 6:26 pm

Hello everyone,

I was looking at my little cent sorting operation, you know, ryedale, table, chair, little folding pocket knife, a couple 5 gallon buckets, a couple 4 gallon square containers, a trash bag filled with strictly coin wrappers, some ear plugs for the sorting, a bunch of $25 empty boxes, a loupe, a copy of the red book, ect. ect. This is what my little sorting station is made up of. I got to thinking that I know that there has to be some guys on here that are doing things, BIG. I am really interested to see or hear some stories of your serious cent sorting centers. I imagine guys with multiple Ryedales, pallets of unsorted $50 bags, bank style heavy duty counter/wrapping machines, 55 gallon drums of coppers/large spaces filled with coppers. Can you guys make my dream a reality and post some pics/video of your BIG TIMER hoards? This is for both those of us who hoard and sell cu. I know there might be some hesitation at first, but you can e-mail pix anonymously and I will post them up without any of your info. I am a trustworthy dude. e-mail is: oldsilvercoins at g mail dot com I just want to see some serious cu, and I know most of you do too!

Thanks,
HoldingAg

"stories of your serious cent sorting centers. " Whew say that 3 times real fast.

We have only 4 banks so to date We have only sorted about 5 boxes. Good thing we mark our rolls or we would would have searched a lot more lol.
Going to open an account in an hour that "claims" IF we open an account there, just the most basic (free) we can order as many pennies as we want. Well, that what they told us anyway.
We were clear we wanted 10 to 12 boxes a week and they said no problem, so maybe if we have the same luck at the other banks (not our current one, they are the LEAST help, so guess who will be getting all my deposits in pennies from now on) maybe I can get back ahold of Mr. Ryedale and give him the go head and get so pictures for you.
Until then tho,

That was MaDeuce.. and he did it with Canadian nickels. I almost bought one of his machines.

Slick.. you know it's one of my favorite pics.. Some of the newbies might not have seen it. I hate when I get a week behind. If only I could keep things neatly stacked like that now. Funny thing about that pic.. when the old gf saw that stack of pennies she said "OMG, there must be a thousand dollars there!"

Hoard I knew you couldn't be married with you sorting at the levels you do. :D

Is it still possible to get unsorted $50 bags? I have not had any luck with 3 banks.

Sometimes it does cause a little agitation in the household.. even if a guy isn't married.

There are always unsorted bags or copper or wheat cents available.

Yep. I don't usually do this. But here is an old picture of $950 in unsorted bags. One day's worth of pickups.

My son Franklin who is the sorter looked at your photo and said dad it looks like a lot of zinc! :D When I asked why he said they were to shiny to be copper.

Hehe. About 70% zinc. I average 30% or so out of my bags. He would be surprised how many of the shiny ones are actually copper. Most of the grungiest ones are zinc.
