Found a 1961 Proof dime.

So I finally got around to an update again. It's been just over 4 months, and here are some stats from that time frame:
40 proof coins reported. Most was 14 by kestrelia, who has also found the oldest proof, a 1957 silver dime. Speaking of silver, there have been 5 silver proofs reported. Kestrelia found 1957 and 1961 dimes, plus a 1998 silver dime. Cardsncoins found a 1992 silver dime. Dumpsterdiver found a 2004 Iowa silver quarter. Others who found more than one proof in the last 4 months: Appjoe found 7; Chris6081, Country, Cwgii each found 2. Thirteen guys found one proof each.

Found two old proof nickels 1957 and 1958 (almost beat my oldest proof). They were in two separate rolls, but probably from the same customer.

That's a TOTAL of 157 proofs reported... and basically ONE THIRD of them were found by KESTRELIA! What are your theories on why you're finding so many? Anyone else want to offer up any thoughts on how this is possible?

Found another ... 2000S VA (clad) quarter

Uthminsta - thanks for the compliment, i think it is ...

volume - after luck and locale, the key to CRH is volume (and there's not too many quarter or dollar searchers)

skill - i've gotten better at picking out slightly thicker proof quarter rims over the years (the first two years of searching, roughly the same volume, only netted me one proof quarter); i still find proof dime rims tough to spot

bother - perhaps not everyone is as into finding proofs as I am (or others), at this point the number of older US coins I'm finding has decreased dramatically so I need new proof finds to keep me happy

Way to go sparechange! Proofs are cool, but SILVER is awesome! So far there have only been 4 silver proofs reported, including Kestrelia's 2 dimes, and the 2 silver state quarters - yours and DumpsterDiver's Iowa!
