World Coin Metal Composition website

Postby Derek.Sheriff » Sun Oct 09, 2011 12:51 am

I remember there was a really great website that listed base metal coins from many countries in circulation and their compositions by dates. I can't seem to find it again. Help!

Oh cool. The 1976 and 1978 Canadian pennies I found in my penny jar actually have slighltly more copper than my American pennies. Looks like the 2001 Canadian pennies I found aren't worth collecting.

You might be on to something there...
There may still be pennies from heaven, but they won't be coming from the mint much longer.

The humble one-cent piece is set to disappear from Canadian pockets, a victim of inflation.

Thursday's federal budget said the Royal Canadian Mint will strike the last of the little coins this fall.
