Im not too familiar with the 2006 set, but a quick ebay search shows them consistently going for roughly $340. Now considering the 2006 set to be composed of only 3 coins and only be 5 yrs old I would say there is a possibility to make some money on this in a relatively short amount of time. Any significant gains in silver would obviously only magnify this. I am very interested.
Soooo... Is it just me or is a chart of US debt looking dangerously parabolic?

Do you guys really think it will sell for this cheap? The guys at the kitco forum said the price is old and hasn't been decided on yet. They're all still thinking it will be $350ish.

I really don't think this one is actually going to sell at that price. Gotta be an error on the website

Instead of quoting and making a few posts to answer questions all just answer some in 1 post :)

The 2006 set I believe sold for around $100. 2-3 weeks after the mint sold out the sets were selling for $500-650. Now 5 years later they are only selling for $350ish...if that. I would reccomend selling to flip almost asap.

Would I sent this set in to get graded? NO! You are going to spend probably $100+ just in grading and if the coins come back as 69's instead of 70's than your money will be wasted. If you think you have 70 coins than you might be able to get a decent premium but I don't think it justifies the time and wait and "hope" that they think your set is a 70. Also you can NOT open the coins to even look at them before you send them in. If its like the 2006 set they will not declare that its the "special eagles" unless it comes from an unopened mint packaging. This prevents people from swapping out regular eagles ect.

Well said, those are my thoughts too. The '06 sets were $99.95 plus shipping and had I not tucked them away and forgotten about them for two years..... :(

Looking back at my ledger now and I see that I sold them to my favorite coin shop for $300/set which I then put into gold. I'm not a big fan of grading since most will come back as 69's. If I score any sets, I'll flip them asap.

Also, based on my experience with ordering the 06's, if the mint puts you on a waiting list like they did me, don't give up hope. I believe the 06's were a Fall sale also and from out of the blue I received two sets in December.

Definitely want to grab 5 of these myself. I have never ordered through the US Mint.

Is it better to call or order online?

I will be trying both ways at 12 noon Oct 27, just curious if anyone has had experience.

Cheers,
Henchman

Will the price be published before the day of release? I'd have to shuffle some money around to buy more than one, and I'd REALLY like to buy more than one.

Anyone know if the mint requires your shipping address to match the address on your card? I have 3 houses I can use but all my cards use one address.

Can't you just change the address on your card? I did it maybe a year ago with Littleton, I just login on the Discover website and it takes maybe 2 minutes.

I was hoping it would be fairly simple. I would be content with only 5 sets.

The phone lines will be swamped. I'd stick to online.

People with the Pre-sale BIN now are leaving a lot of money on the table. They should have listed them at $1000.
