Nickel error?

Franklin found this nickel when he got to help clean out the coin counter at the bank. It is fused solid the back coin looks like a planchet are a knockout of an box. Could it be a mint error.

21.12 MM x 2.35 mm thick. And I am getting 3.89 if I stack two normal ones. And 21.21 on a normal nickel. I do not have a gram scale . I can have it put on one at the coin shop on Saturday.

I Emailed Mike Diamond the past President of Coneca http://conecaonline.org/ And he said --

It's either a badly damaged nickel or a lead counterfeit. It's definitely not a mint error.

yes. keep it for a record of "finds". I was going to say lead/tin myself. From the looks of the obverse, there is some running on the mold near where the date would be. To myself it looks like a poorly cast repop. It is as though a porcelain casting was made of a real nickel, and someone poured some metal into the mould, and the mould cracked. As I write this, I bet it was something someone was going to use as a ornament, they probably had no need for the reverse, because it would have been attached to another article, and not showing. Somehow in the process, either it was not approved to be used on the product or it fell off, and someone spent it. kind of funny actually. definitely a good keeper.
