Apparently in 1961, 1963, and 1964, it was actually Thomas Jefferson who appeared on the U.S. quarter dollar coins! You must admit, the resemblance to George Washington is striking!
old US 90% silver coins. Jefferson Quarters, $0.75 face valueThis reminds me of the Jay Leno skit where he quizzes people on the street about American History. It is pretty sad how little the average person really know about what should be elementary things.

There are a lot of opportunities to pick up some very rare coins on Ebay. Be on the lookout for Peace Morgan dollars. Especially minted in New York or Ottawa. Hard to find but they are out there.
Yesterday someone posted multiple Morgan dollar auctions with pictures that looked just like Buffalo nickels. How rare is that? Have you ever seen a Morgan Buffalo? Opportunity knocks!
