Wow... When they said they would post the price closer to the sale date to better reflect the price of silver they weren't kidding... I can't wait. I'll for sure get 10 of these. nothing like a reverse proof and over the long haul no matter what "demand" is these will be worth getting.

This link is from Thursday. Apparently the Mint was supposed to announce pricing yesterday, but the feeling from the comments is they waited due to the rising spot price. I have no idea and don't care either way, I won't be ordering. I just thought I'd share the story.

Just wondering in the back of my mind how many of these buggers can they sell over four weeks. Heck last year's special set sold out in what 4 hrs??? Not sure if I want in on this one yet or not......at 100-200k mintage they would be a good flipper but at 500k+ maybe at first but after everyone gets their set, overpriced bullion is all I could guess they would be, Hummmm

The Mint is going to have a piece counter right on the order page. Just prior the deadline I'll see how the #s shake out.

I don't know if the above is true, but here is how I see it playing out ...

Everyone waits 'til the end to see the numbers, making the mintage seem low until the last day, and then a frenzy could commence. Then how many orders get canceled when the shysters see the total is higher than expected? If there is a last-minute rush, what's to stop the Mint from extending the time period for ordering "due to the great demand?"

Of course, I could be completely wrong. Maybe these things will make the 25th Aniv. set look like chicken feed. Who knows?

Like I said, I won't be playing, but I have a feeling this is gonna be very entertaining to watch from the sidelines.

I was thinking of waiting until the last day or two to make up my mind. If the total is less than 250k I might buy.

The way I see it is if you want anything worth keeping or selling in a few years you had better get a few boxes right at the start. I for one will be buyng 5 sets, 3 and 2 as fast as the web site responds. Then I'll just let the mint sealed boxes sit. Unless the FS boxes start going for a higher price then I'll sell the 5 set.
