i have noticed a lot of religious scripture on the set in peoples post or signatures, most magazine ads for gold/silver seem to be in outdoor/hunting magazines etc. Just something I was curious about and found interesting

Of course. Most liberals/progressives believe in the inherent goodness of mankind, and truly believe we are getting better with each generation. Conservatives and/or people who have a God, know better (generally).

Or simply seize power.
