Most Recent Bag #2

Postby TheJonasCollegeFund » Sat Sep 03, 2011 3:24 am

Just finished off bag #2 from my only bag pickup. Bag #1 had "0" wheats and a guess of 30% copper!

Well bag #2 was a little better with a total of "11" wheats. The oldest being a 1936. I did score 13 more Canadian coppers including 2 more George VI's. That's 3 George VI's counting the one I got in bag #1.

And...scored 2 dimes. Woo...Hoo....!

3 foreign coins showed up, too! 1 from Barbados, 1 from Australia (maybe...gonna check), and 1 from the far east...(gonna check that one, too).

Oh, and I'd bet the copper's going to run in the mid-30% range on this bag. :D

I have bag #3 waiting to go through tomorrow....hope it get's a little better!

There's nothing wrong with bags that are 30% copper. I wish I could get a percentage like that. My last batch yesterday was $10 in CWR that had zero wheats, one Canadian, and 16.73% copper.

You're in SoCal and aren't getting 30% copper?

Is anyone in SoCal getting a decent copper percentage? In the month and half that I have been sorting, my best box has only been 21%.

Nice on the foreign coins, I like getting those more than most I guess :)
I get 2 boxes a week and average 28 to 30 percent copper with an average of 15-25 wheats.
I swear 90% of the wheats are 53's and 55's LOL but this last time I did get a 1918 and a 1923 :D

I bought $50 in pennies yesterday from my local bank in central ohio. While breaking out the rolls I found 6-7 wheats, several early 60s red/BU cents and a blank planchet. So I'm going to be quite interested in what % I get ,so far so good.

Up to 40% at times. My worst is usually about 18-20%.

I need to keep searching for a better source. Today $25 CWR sorted with less than 17% copper but at least there were 10 wheats in there.
